MARKET VISIT AND COOKING CLASS IN TAORMINA

Before the lesson begins, you will visit the open air Market with the chef to buy all the necessary ingredients to prepare your recipe. The lesson will take place in a restaurant down town in Taormina. You will watch the Chef working and you will take part to the preparation of the recipes, while tasting Sicilian wine. Lunch will follow into the suggestive context of the restaurant rising on the ancient roman-greek walls around the town.
You will taste your dishes with some other specialties of the restaurant. In fact, you will enjoy a full lunch offered by the restaurant: this lunch consists of dishes cooked by the Chef and, of course, the ones prepared by yourself.

HALFDAY 4×4 VULCAN ETNA GUIDED TOUR

Pick-up at the hotel. You’ll drive by highway to Giarre and then you’ll continue through the following towns: S. Venerina, Milo and Fornazzo. From there you’ll drive on an old lava flow in 4×4 in order to reach the Valley of the Ox (Valle del Bove). Then you’ll visit a cave and then stop at a mountain refuge for a break. As a third stage you’ll walk on the Sartorius Craters, created during the lava flow in 1865, in order to have an easy trekking on a natural and wild path. On the way down, you’ll drive on the Mareneveroad through Linguaglossa and Fiumefreddo. Then, return to the hotel.

THE GODFATHER TOUR

A tour of the stunning towns of Savoca, Forza d’Agrò and Taormina, famous for being the settings for some of the most memorable scenes of the The Godfather, but also some of the most beautiful historic towns in Sicily.
Leaving from Taormina at 9.00am, the first stop is Savoca, where we’ll take a short walk through the streets of the town centre and visit the San Nicolò church where Apollonia and Michael Corleone got married, followed by a stop in the famous Bar Vitelli. The bar has remained almost exactly the same, frozen in the 1970s, and inside you’ll find numerous references to the film. According to Francis Ford Coppola, this was the perfect location for filming his masterpiece. The next stop is Forza D’Agrò, a village nestled in the hills at 400m above sea level. Also here you’ll see some of the little streets that feature in the film. From its breath taking view point you can see the whole coast line stretching from Messina to Syracuse, and the imposing Mount Etna behind. After visiting the centre it’s time to have some lunch (included) in a traditional local restaurant.
After lunch it’s off to Taormina to admire its historic town centre of Baroque palaces and the medieval buildings of Corso Umberto, as the well as the narrow alleyways typical of the town. Return to your accommodation at around 5.00 pm

TEMPLE VALLEY ENGLISH GUIDED TOUR

Take a stirring journey through the archaeological site at Agrigento. The Valley of the Temples is an immense artistic and archaeological heritage of Sicily. Extending over approximately 1,300 hectares, it recounts a millenary history that began in the 6th Century B.C. with the foundation of the ancient Greek colony of Akragas.

TOUR OF MODICA & CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE

The tour starts right from the sumptuous halls of Grimaldi building and then reaches out to local service, in one of which are preserved the oldest chocolate processing tools. Next, the visit to the laboratory of one of the producers who still keeps alive the oldest chocolate tradition of Europe. You will satisfy your palate among different chocolate flavors, accompanied by other extraordinary and unusual delicacies of the confectionery tradition of Modica. You can also delight the sight and smell among the works on display at the Chocolate Museum, which also hosts exhibits of Casa Grimaldi. They are fundamental for the reconstruction of the fascinating history of chocolate of Modica. The tour will end with the tasting of various flavors of chocolate.

WINE AND CHEESE TOUR

The tasting is conducted by a Wine Expert guide and includes a brief guided walk (about 30-45 minutes) to admire some of the most interesting monumental sites of the city (about 1 km), up until reaching a renowned wine Bar in a sophisticated environment. There you will be waited in order to start the joint tasting of five types of excellent quality Sicilian cheese, from the freshest to the most aged, almond cookies and six important wines representative of the main local varieties, such as Nero d’Avola and Catarratto, and a dessert wine.

PALERMO MARKETS AND STREET FOOD TOURS

This classic Palermo Street Food & City Tour in English is a great way to experience Palermo’s culture and get in touch with local people. The morning tour is dedicated to the exploration of historical markets and street food.
