Located in one of the most iconic stretches of the Sorrento bay, perched on its cliff, this five-level mansion, surrounded by its opulent garden with plants from all around the world (more than 700 different species), a semi-submerged grotto carved in Roman times, is set right in front of the sea. The house affords views of the scenic landscape and sea from almost every angle. On the sweeping grounds, there’s a three-level dependance, a heated pool with marble borders, a solarium and a private dock. Hidden away, yet very close to the town centre, this home offers six bedrooms decorated in neo-classic style some with frescoed walls and other with hand-painted decorations, contemporary fabrics and an entire collection of archaeological statues and historical items. In the dependance, 4 contemporary style bedrooms of inferior quality add capacity to the estate, including 30.000 square meters of private gardens. The interior of the property measures 1,200 square meters and it can accommodate a total of 12 adults in the main building and 8 in the dependance. It is best used for a total of 12 guests.

A manicured lawn decorated with archaeological statues and large shade trees introduces guests to the property, that rises sheer above the sea on a Sorrento cliff overlooking the Amalfi coast. The home design approached with research in the historical context results in a neoclassic style with Roman historical items traced back to the 1st century A.D. Decorative elements with Ionic columns, Ming and Byzantine vases, and neo-classical frescoes combine with precious marbles resulting in a unique glamorous décor. All this is enriched with contemporary touches, like a panoramic rooftop solarium, a modern lift connecting all the floors, a private dock and a modern like the kitchen. Aesthetically, the house recalls traditional typologies as well as choices of materials including opulent usage of marble, granite, and stone. Of contemporary influence, however, was the decision to include steel appliance in the kitchen and modern double showers with glass walls in the bathrooms. Classical and elegant, this is a historical retreat full of light and an evocative atmosphere, blending its origins at the Roman times with modernity.

Nestled on a 3 hectares parcel property, located on the sheer cliff over the sea of Sorrento, this villa features a heated pool, an external bright terrace and a 270° sea view rooftop terraced completely paved in wood. Set amid a garden rich of a 700 different plants variety, it also comes with a parking space. From the same stone stairs that climb down to the private dock, from where guests may freely access the sea, an inner Roman cave is using seawater to create an underground pool. All around, on the gardens, paths, and terraces, archaeological statues are part of the property since 18th-century.

Roman Grotto. A submerged pool with a circular vaulted ceiling, is partly a natural cave and partially an excavated grotto by the Romans and used as a thermal pool. The grotto is still fed by the sea with fresh seawater and an ideal, sandy area to swim and relax. The East side of the grotto holds an ancient, Roman fish-breeding pool and 5 steps lead from the grotto to the private dock, where a set of stairs leads directly to the sea, for sunbathing and swimming.
