Description

Located at the banks of the Como Lake, this estate comes with its British garden and it’s one of the only few homes in the area with a helipad, a contemporary boathouse capable of hosting 3 small boats, a wooden pier and an ancient boat dock preserved as it was in the 16th century. Facing the water, the three-level house affords views of the scenic landscape from almost every angle, on the sweeping grounds there is a heated pool, a solarium, a gym and dependance. Hidden away, between the Lake and Ossuccio town, the villa offers six bedrooms decorated with antique appliances in regimental style with hand-painted walls in delicate shades, contemporary fabrics and bespoke furnishing by Italian and international artisans.

Contained in the villa’s wing, we find four elegant rooms in a more contemporary style, whereas the dependance next to the outside swimming pool features three bedrooms in mixed, classic and contemporary style, together with three bedrooms for staff on the underground floor. The estate includes 20,000 square meters of private stately gardens, the interior of the main building and its wing measures together 1500 square meters, the pool dependance measures 540 square meters.

A sumptuous gate with a water spring pound that separate two lawns introduce to the British garden surrounding the villa, located in front of the iconic Como Lake banks. The home design approached with research in the historical context, results in a neoclassic style with antique items coming from the past centuries, on original terracotta floors and precious marble enriching the hand-painted walls, lending a historical feel to the interiors. Elements of classic Italian residential architecture, such as a silhouette defined by long, continuous eaves, are combined with contemporary touches, like an inside heated pool. Aesthetically, the house recalls traditional typologies — for instance, the British-inspired garden with a vista over the lake — as well as traditional materials including several kinds of precious marble, granite, stone some locally sourced, some others coming from all around the world. A contemporary influence, however, was the decision to include steel in the kitchen and black marble in the bathrooms. Modern yet very comfortable, this is a chic retreat full of light and a welcoming vibe, blending traditional and modern Neo Classic Architecture.

The interiors of the main building include several spacious living rooms, a dining area with garden vistas, a professional kitchen, a private chapel, a gym, a library, and a music room with a grand piano. Majestic stairs connect the floor, together with a modern lift. On the two upper floors, a pantry is available to use for the rooms, without the necessity to climb down for a simple the or coffè. The side dependence is a wing renovated to a more modern style, and the pool depandance is in classic and contemporary décor, with living and patio on the ground floor and a well-equipped kitchen.

Annex. Originally this was a separate property, built-in 1990, is immersed in the garden facing the heated pool at 2 minutes by walk from the main building. It has a more contemporary style compared to the rest of the property, and an inferior quality, it features a living room open space and an equipped kitchen on the ground floor. Three rooms are on the first floor and the other two are located in the minus one floor and have no windows, so they can be used for the staff or extra friends one night.

Nestled on a 2 hectares parcel facing the Como Lake, this villa features an outside heated pool and an extensive and sumptuous garden, which was distinguished by the British Society of Garden Designers. It comes with a majestic gate entrance with a water spring and another separate building used as a technical area and garage to host guest’s cars, however, space for cars is abundant in the estate grounds. A dependance building is set in the middle of the property, in front of the pool, and a two-floors wing connects the main building to the ancient boathouse. In a secondary and more modern boathouse is possible to host up to 3 small boats. The current owners of the estate, embarked on a meticulous and constant renovation every year, preserving the 16th-century structure, and installing top-of-the-line appliances.
